摘要：

蒙学典籍英译过程中,在翻译技巧和理论层面一直存在着诸多争论:可译性与不可译性问题、归化与异化的选择问题及经验与理论的关系之争。囿于翻译学科本身的理论框架,很难得出定论。考虑到蒙学典籍英译的跨学科特性,通过引入杜威的儿童教育观、结合教育学的理论观念及手段,可为这三大争议找到解决的出路和途径:蒙学典籍的“不可译”,可利用“教育即生活”理论实现恰当的补偿;在处理文化差异问题时,依照原文分类的从低级到高级,选择从归化到异化的翻译策略正符合“教育即生长”的观点;翻译经验的积累及理论的升华,是统一于翻译实践当中的两个要素,从“教育即经验的不断改造和改组”观点出发,可明确这种从量变到质变的转化过程,进而证明经验的重要价值。

Abstract：

There have been heated discussions of translation strategies and theories in translating Chinese initiation education classics into English, for instance, translatable or untranslatable, the choice of domestication or foreignization, and the relationship between practice and theory. Considering the cross-disciplinary characteristics of translation studies, Dewey's thoughts on the education of children may help to solve the problems.
