On the classic readings in the modern history of Chinese education

摘要：
在皇权时代,读经乃封建教育的题中之义。辛亥革命后,中小学教育读经开始遭到普遍的质疑。但伴随民国在政治和思想上的反反复复,读经问题也一而再地引起政界和学界的争论,经历一个废止、恢复、半废半行到完全消失的过程。认真回顾和反思近现代教育史上的读经问题,对于我们今天理性地认识中小学"读经现象"大有益处。
Abstract：
Classic readings remain the main theme of the feudal China. Since 1911, however, they get extensively questioned in primary and high schools. In the period of Republic of China, classic readings get restored, disputed, and eventually abolished. So this paper discusses the phenomenon from a historical perspective.
