摘要：
当前中学英语教学中阅读和写作方面存在种种问题,从素质教育的目标和学生的心智需求出发,中学英语教学中应要求学生大量阅读英语文学读本,并辅以读后写作,以巩固和提高学生的理解能力和表达能力。
Abstract：
This paper analyzes the problems of English reading and writing in high school teaching,and claims that high school students should enhance extensive reading of English literature followed with writing of summaries.The author proposes three phases as a teaching model of English reading and writing.
