Reviewing the history of Chinese children studying in U.S.A.in moderntimes, we may have a better understanding of students studying abroad.From a macroscopic point of view, the office-holders in Westernization Movement(initiated mainly by Qing bureaucrats in the latter half of the 19th century to introdue techniques of capi-talist production for the purpose of propping up the tottering Qing government)had no overall plan and made some policies at will , from which we should learn a lesson from.From a microscopic point of view, the childrens tudying abroad today have no the advantages enjoyed by the childrens tudying abroad in the 19th century.We must be cautious in dealing with the matter of childrens tudying abroad.
