Yan Yuan and his criticism of the imperial examination
摘要/Abstract
摘要：
颜元是清初著名的思想家和教育家。他针对科举的弊端,在教育目的、教育内容、选士方式、学校功能和思想观念等方面对科举做了激烈的批判。他认为教育应摆脱科举的束缚,主张废除八股取士,改革书院教育。发挥原有的功能,为国家培养有用的专门人才,为提高人民大众的生存能力做出贡献。颜元的实学思想,为扭转当时的不良社会风气起了积极的作用。
Abstract：
Yan Yuan is a great thinker and educationalist in the early Qing Dynasty,who defies the flaws of the imperial examinations in relation to educational purpose,curricula,selection of scholars,schooling function,and ideology.He argues that the education should be free from shades of imperial examination and the stereotyped writing,and that academies need reforming.He further argues for the pragmatic education to make more contributions for the nation.
