摘要：
中国颜元和美国杜威都是处于社会转型时期的教育家,他们批判旧教育的空虚无用,主张教育要切合生活实际,并分别提出了"主动习行"与"从做中学"教育思想。在教育思想的形成背景、教育目的观、教育内容观、教学方法论等方面,他们既有许多相通之处,也有许多分歧的地方。比较他们教育思想的异同,有利于我们更好地把握两位教育家的思想精髓,从而为我国的教育事业服务。
Abstract：
Yan Yuan and John Dewey both experience the critical social transformations,advocating the pragmatism and learning from performing,and defying the ineffective education.The paper characterizes the similarities and differences of their educational thoughts in pursuit of serving Chinese education with the essence of the educationalists.
