The Three-year Action Plan for Preschool Education has played an important role in promoting the development of preschool education in the new era, and has also produced notable achievements in research. Based on 1384 academic papers in Studies in Early Childhood Education collected in CNKI database from 2011 to 2020, using quantitative research methods and visualization techniques, this paper makes a statistical analysis in terms of publication time, author groups, publishing institutions and regional distribution, fund projects and policy support, hot research topics and their evolution, download frequency and citation frequency, column settings, etc., and constructs the visual maps of co-occurrence frequency and the time-zone view of hot research topics. Data and graph research shows that state administration at all levels have attached great importance to preschool education research in the past ten years. There are a large number of author groups and high level and productive scholars with academic influence, but the geographical distribution of researchers is unbalanced. Attention has been paid to academic cooperation, but there is a lack of cooperative research between China and foreign countries. The hot research topics are mainly in kindergarten, kindergarten teachers, kindergarten curriculum, kindergarten education and professional development, etc., and the research fields are constantly segmented. There are more and more research questions on preschool education from interdisciplinary perspectives, but there are few achievements in cross-border research.
