Due to the complex surrounding international environment and historical reasons, the national identity education of Xinjiang ethnic minority college students in the mainland plays an important role in maintaining national unity and stability in Xinjiang. With statistics from a questionnaire survey, data regression analysis was made from three dimensions:cognition, emotion and behavior. It shows that the mainland Xinjiang minority college students have a good sense of national identity, national unity and Chinese cultural identity, but a small group of students show narrow national consciousness and a weak sense of national identity. In order to enhance the national identity of ethnic minority college students from Xinjiang, it is necessary to establish overall consciousness and a systematic way of thinking, coordinate and cooperate with comprehensive policies, emphasis moral education in situations or contexts and strengthen the education of Chinese traditional culture.
