Along with the rapid urbanization, migrants from rural areas are faced with the difficult integration with urban dwellers. They need a sustainable livelihood mechanism to tide them over the risk of poverty in cities. This paper argues for vocational education for improving the level of their livelihood capital bundle, a collection of material capital, human capital, social capital and psychological capital. Vocational education is committed to occupational ability, decency and stability. Vocational education helps farmers adapt to the urban style of living and upward mobility of social rungs. All this may eventually help to establish a long-term career planning for them to live in the city.
