The history of new culture is considered as one of the schools in the west in the 1980s-90s, which is so widespread that it overtakes what was known as the popular social history. The new culture deals with anthropology, cultural theories and relations of powers, besides taking language as metaphors. Historical research methodologies are also taken into consideration, enabling history accessible to the public, and enlarging the research field of historians. The criticisms of the history of new culture include belittling the relation between history and social studies, with cultural theories messing up the distinction of imagination and truth.
