Reforms on British public schools in the 19th century
摘要/Abstract
19世纪英国公学改革是公学发展的重要时期。这场改革修订了公学的章程,明确了公学内部管理机构的组织原则和相关要求,赋予了公学自主管理的权力。课程设置方面,肯定古典学科的价值,增加数学、物理等实用学科。学生管理方面,设立“级长制”鼓励学生竞争,以感化教育代替粗暴体罚,加强学生管理。19世纪英国公学改革使公学摆脱了困境,是一场自下而上的渐进式的改革。
The reforms of public schools, conducted in Britain in the 19th century, plays an important role in British education development. The constitution of public schools is revised to make clear the rules of organization and relevant requirements of internal management institution, and granting public schools the power of self-management. In terms of curriculum, more practical subjects are added, such as maths and physics. In addition, reformatory education is enforced, and rude physical punishment abolished. The reforms of public schools in 19th century advance steadily, and beginning from bottom up.
