Guo Bingwen and his concepts of higher education reforms
摘要/Abstract
郭秉文"四个结合"的高等教育改革观强调的是适应与平衡,有其内在的思想逻辑。他以洞明世界之潮流、符合世界发展趋势为视野,以倡导国民之文化、适应国家社会需要为目的,以平衡协进、借鉴融合为方法,审视中国高等教育的现状,深刻认识到中国教育发展所存在的问题、中国教育与西方国家的差距,明确提出自下而上的学术自主的改革主张,希望中国大学担负起发展文化的责任,提高中国大学在世界教育中的地位,并积极投身改革实践,对当时中国高等教育体制进行一次有机融合与成功改造,形成具有独特性且比较系统的高等教育改革理论。郭秉文"四个结合"的高等教育改革观对于当代中国高等教育改革仍然具有深刻的启示意义。
Guo Bingwen claims adaptations and balances for the higher education reforms in line with the global development,national culture,and social demands.He compares Chinese higher education with that of the western countries,for the purpose of finding differences and conducting thorough reforms.He hopes that Chinese universities assume the responsibility of the cultural development to improve the stature of Chinese universities,actively engage the practices of reform,and successfully transform and develop Chinese unique and systematic reforms of higher education.
