Development of the aboriginal language education policies in Canada

摘要/Abstract

摘要:

语言教育政策作为国家教育政策的重要组成部分,是国家行使教育权力,维护国家利益、促进民族和谐的重要手段。加拿大原住民语言教育政策历经从同化到多元的政策价值取向演变;从破坏到保护语言资源的政策观念变革;从政府主导到原住民自治的政策决策机制转变的发展过程。探讨加拿大原住民语言教育政策的演变历程、特征与经验将为我国语言教育政策制定和完善提供借鉴。

Abstract:

Language education policy is a crucial means of a government to exercise its powers of national education, safeguard national interests and promote ethnic harmony. The aboriginal language education policies in Canada have experienced the assimilation-oriented process to pluralism-oriented process in terms of values, from destruction to protection of language resources, and from government-dominated to aboriginal self-controls.
