摘要：
家庭学校教育作为基础教育领域的一种新的教育理念和模式,20世纪60年代在美国兴起,20世纪80年代以来得到了蓬勃发展。这种教育理念和模式也渗透到了世界上的很多国家以及我国的台湾、香港地区。约翰·霍尔特是美国家庭学校教育运动的积极倡导者和推动者,对于指导和推动美国家庭学校教育运动的发展起了非常重要的作用。
Abstract：
Home schooling as a new educational concept and mode of elementary education, emerges inUSA in 1960s and is well developed by 1980s. T he idea spreads to T aiwan, Hong Kong and many other re gions. John Holt is an advocator and facilitator of American home schooling, and plays a very importantrole in promoting the American movement.
