Kang Youwei considers education as a premise and a way to rescue a nation from its crisis. Thus, Kang performs on the traditional educational system, abandoning the imperial examinations, advocating the grassroots education, and establishing the rewarding mechanisms for the sake of the national quality. Despite his incomplete success in the practice of the western learning, he is one of the best educationalists in the contemporary China. And at the meanwhile, the new culture campaign and his reforming concept have acted as the theoretical foundation for the May 4^th Movement.
