The preparation and development of organic areogels and their carbonized derivatives,which are very low density and well-developed nano-porous structure noncrystalline solids and havemany superior properties leading a striking number of potential applications, is a great progress inaerogel science and technology. This article reviewed organic aerogels’ preparation methods, structureand characteristic technique, properties and applications, and pointed out their fascinating prospects forfurther development in different fields.
