A Correlation Between the Barium and Europium Abundances in Metal-poor Stars
摘要/Abstract
根据目前已测得的贫金属星中重元素钡和铕的观测丰度, 利用通常的最小二乘法确定了 [Eu/ H]和[Ba/ H]之间的线性相关关系, 并利用 F-检验法和相关系数 r检验法对回归效果作了显著性检验.结果表明, 贫金属星中 [Eu/ H]和 [Ba/ H]之间确存在着显著的线性相关关系, 在星系形成早期的极贫金属情况下, 重元素钡和铕可能都是由 r-过程产生的
Based on the observed abundances of barium and europium in metal-poor stars, we deter- mined the correlation between the barium and europium abundances with the method of ordinary least- squares. The confident level of the regressive function of [Eu/H]on[Ba/H]was tested by the F-test and the r-test. The result reveals the existence of a tight linear correlation between the barium and europium abundances, which means that both of barium and europium may be produced by the r-process in the ex- tremely metal-poor stars at the early stage of the Galaxy.
