Taking Zhangjiakou Saibei management district as example,selecting typical landuse samples of soil in this area,including natural grassland,forest,scrubland,farmland,the soil of nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium and organic matter is comaratively analyzed. The results show that there are obvious differences between different land use patterns. Some projects have been taken to protect the environment in Northern agriculture pasturage eco-zone,such as the conversion of cropland to forest project and Jing-jin sandstorm source government project. So it is important to emphasis the ecological conservation and land use pattern of the northern agro-pas toral transitional zone and at the same time some strategy and suggestion for regionally sustainable development has been brought forward.
