The Taming of the Shrew as a literary tendency of Shakespeare's knowledge of psychology
摘要/Abstract
莎士比亚熟谙剧中人物心理, 堪称一名心理大师。《驯悍记》可以看作对其心理知识文学化的杰出展示。一直以来批评家认为《驯悍记》中的女主人公凯瑟琳娜是一个在男权的威压下最终放弃自我、放弃了自己追求幸福快乐的初衷, 而最终屈服于当时男权势力之下的悲剧女性形象。但就她个人而言, 凯瑟琳娜的选择并非她悲剧命运的开始, 相反, 这一选择是她在心理发展逐渐成熟后的明智之举, 将是她幸福人生的起点。凯瑟琳娜的心理发展可以分为四个阶段, 是对她心理逐渐成熟这一过程的描述, 充分展示了莎士比亚对于女性心理的成熟把握。
Shakespeare is a so-called psychologist, for he understands the psychology of his characters in plays. The Taming of the Shrew is a masterpiece in which Katherina, the heroine, gives up her pursuit of happiness and herself under the sexism. This is not her start of tragedy, but happiness from the perspective of her own progress. The writer claims that the psychology of the heroine can be divided into four stages. This demonst rates Shakespearean knowledge of the female psychology.
