An endless journey—Jia Ping'ao and his literary creativity
摘要/Abstract
贾平凹小说创作表现出浓厚的寻找意味。20世纪80年代初的精神迷惘是其寻找的基础。90年代的都市和乡村题材小说则体现出对城乡文明的双向审视、抉择与否定。他承认都市文明是历史的发展方向, 但都市本身的种种弊病又使他不能不对其予以排斥;他看到了乡村文明的岌岌可危, 却又本能地系心于乡土。矛盾、困惑是这一时期的主色调。本世纪初的《秦腔》宣告了乡土家园的失去, 寻找也因此而告一段落。这漫长的寻找历程, 显现着他的精神求索的轨迹。
Jia Ping'ao has a profound sense of search in his writing. It is argued that the loss in the early 1980s is the foundation for his comparative account of the urban and rural civilizations of the 1990s. He claims that the urban civilization is the trend despite its innumerable flaws. By contrast he has a great nostalgia regardless of his despair of the current rural civilization. Confusion and contradiction serve as his keynote feeling or spiritual search, which is revealed in his work of Shaanxi Dialect(Qinqiang).
