A tentative study of the coexistence of monosyllabic and disyllabic verb as a synonymy

摘要：
现代汉语中并存并用着大量含同一语素的同义单双音节动词, 在汉语双音化趋势下, 与单音节动词同义的双音节动词已经产生, 为什么单音节动词还保留在现代汉语体系中?这是一个值得我们思考的问题。词化程度的高低并不是这类同义词并存并用的主要原因, 同素同义单双音节动词之间的差异才是其并存的真正原因。另外, 双音化趋势在导致融合的同时, 也会导致分化, 这是他们并存并用的又一主要原因。
Abstract：
The writer claims that there are a number of monosyllabic and disyllabic verbs as the same morphemes in modern Chinese. But why Chinese retains the monosyllabic verbs is a serious question since the disyllabic ones become a trend of development. It is further argued that their differentiation is the cause, but not the degree of lexemic formation. In addition, the disyllabic tendencies may result in the splits.
