The bundles of firewood, hay and brambles in the poem of Tightly Bound in The Book of Songs refer to the wedding ceremony of welcoming the newlywedded in the ancient time. The three stars indicate the time, whose move from east to west suggests the passing of time. The poet describes the nuptial scenario that relatives make fun of the bride and groom. This paper argues that the first stanza describes the bride being made fun of, second stanza both the groom and bride, and the groom. Hence the complete poem turns into a symphony composed of different parts and roles, thus the legacy chanting the bridal chamber.
