A historical study of CPC over war prisoners during the liberation wartime
摘要/Abstract
解放战争时期,人民解放军共俘虏国民党军官兵约四百五十万左右,在教育、改造和使用敌军俘虏过程中,中国共产党积累了丰富的经验:发挥政治工作优势,从思想上瓦解敌军,达到收人先收心的目的；采取正确的优俘政策,将俘虏的国民党军官和士兵分别处置,达到了分化瓦解敌人的目的；采取了国民党官兵分别改造的方式,发挥新式整军运动的作用,经过改造的被俘官兵参加人民军队,加速了人民解放战争的进程。
During the liberation war, the PLA (the People's Liberation Army) soldiers capture four and a half million KMT (Kuomintang) war prisoners. In the process of educating, renovating and using these prisoners, CPC has accumulated abundant experiences, i.e., in capturing the hearts of enemies via strong political work, dividing the KMT officers and soldiers via proper policies of treating captives, and offering those renovated captives the choice of rejoining the PLA army, for the sake of accelerated victory of the liberation war.
