On the economic transformation of the new reformers by the scientific drive
摘要/Abstract
戊戌维新时期,资产阶级维新派清醒地认识到,科技的发展、机器的应用,已经把人类社会推进到一个新的经济时代。他们提出,中国应该依靠科学技术,实现从农业经济到工业经济的转型。为了扫除发展资本主义经济的障碍,他们对当时思想界流行的轻视科学技术、反对机器生产的陈腐观念和落后的封建经济伦理思想提出强烈的批评,第一次在中国勾画了依靠科技进步推动经济转型的蓝图。
During the Reform Movement of 1898, the bourgeois clearly realize that the development of science, and application of machinery have pushed the human society into a new economic age. So, they propose that China should rely on the scientific drive to transform the agricultural economy to industrial economy. And at the meanwhile, they severely criticize the corroded idea, of defying the science and countering the machinery production, and the backward feudal economic ethics. Consequently, the first blueprint is made of the economic transformation by the scientific drive.
