Scientific nature of the literary theory: effectivity and limit---A discussion with Dr. Ma Jianhui
摘要/Abstract
由于在对科学和科学性的实质的理解上存在问题,人们往往自觉或不自觉地把18、19世纪实证科学的求真尚实规范理解为所谓的科学精神。文学理论之所以是科学并不仅仅在于它具有求真性、客观性、逻辑抽象性,而更在于它体现了科学的精神实质。文学理论这一学科与现代科学、西方理性主义文化有着天然的血缘关系,在今天讨论文学理论的科学性问题必须正视科学自身兼具有效性和有限性的事实。必须警惕欧美现代性、人文性的文化陷阱。
Since there lies some substantial dispute over science and scient if ic nature, people may take it for granted that the empirical pursuit of t ruth value and norms is the so??called scient if ic spirit in the 18th and 19th centuries.Literary theory is scient if ic by nature in that it is not only seeking truth,objectivity,and logic abst ractness,but it embodies the nature of science as well. Furthermore,literary theory is so closely related to modern science and the western rat ionalistic culture that the scientific nature of literary theory deserves a proper exploration in perspectives of effectivity and limit.Likew ise, we ought to keep alert not to fall in the culturalt rap of modernity and humanity in Europe or the States.
