What a tragedy!---On the implicatures of Tang Xianzus Dreams of Handan
摘要/Abstract
《邯郸梦记》是明代剧作家汤显祖的一部重要作品,作者依据明代官场生活的实际状况,塑造了堪称明代士人代表的卢生形象。又通过卢生一生穷通荣辱的遭际变化,批判了明代官场的恶浊现象,解剖了卢生式文臣武将自私卑污的灵魂,对明代士大夫的家庭生活、夫妻关系也做了客观性描写。更为重要的是,这部戏剧对封建时代知识分子的人生道路进行了认真思索,给人们以有益的启示。《邯郸梦记》是人们考察明代官场和士大夫阶层心灵变化的一个重要媒介,思想蕴含丰富。
Dreams of Handan is a masterpiece by the famous playw right named Tang Xianzu of the Ming Dynasty. The author depicts the life of the officialdom of the time, creating the character of Lusheng to represent the scholars. The play provides with a detailed description of the ups and downs, ways of famly life, and conjugal relationship of Lusheng. Moreover, this is a work of exploration of ways of life for the intellectuals of the Ming Dynasty. So, Dr eams of Handan is a mirror in which readers see thoroughly the feudal scholars and officials engaged in the Ming officialdom.
