On the feminine yes in Ulysses
摘要/Abstract
乔伊斯小说《尤利西斯》的结尾部分“珀涅罗珀”中“女性的‘Yes’”有助于揭示莫莉性格特征，反映她的思维状况，贯穿叙事情节和显示作者精湛的小说叙事艺术。在该章中，“yes”可以表达莫莉对某些具体事物的肯定，可以表示出当时她的思维的跳跃性、游离性和随意性特征，有助于把她的中断的思路连接了起来，可以表示她对回忆中的事物的进一步强调，可以表示她在追忆往昔时对触动情怀的事件的感叹之情
In Penelope， the final episode of Joyce’ s novel Ulysses， the feminine word yes avails itself of expressing Molly’ s character traits， reflecting her whirling mind， linking the plots and revealing the au- thor’ s own knack in the fictional narration. In this episode， yes can be used to express Molly’ s affirmation of concrete things， to express the leaping， the dissociation and the randomness of her thoughts， to link her intermitted train of thoughts， to express her further emphasis on nostalgia， to express her sigh with feeling over the things reminiscent of her past experiences.
