The directly ruled (Zhili) districts during the boxer rebellion

摘要：
在义和团时期，直隶地区存在着清政府内清流派和洋务派的尖锐斗争。清流派主张严夷夏之防，认为学习外国的长处，就是离经叛道，将导致亡国灭种。不懂得中外文化可以交流，共同进步。将爱国主义变成了盲目排外。他们的思想，落后于时代，被时代淘汰。洋务派顺应了时代潮流，得到了发展。
Abstract：
During the boxer rebellion, the Zhili districts see direct confrontations between the schools of conservatives and overseas matters. While conservatives argue for efforts against any foreign intrusion in that China is capable of making progress regardless of international exchanges, the school of overseas matters answers the call of the historical streams.
