Multi-surname communal habitation and marital relations——The alternative of villages in North China

摘要：
美籍学者杜赞奇在《文化、权力与国家———1900—1942年的华北农村》中使用了一个广义的宗族概念:由同一祖先繁衍下来的人群,通常由共同财产和婚丧庆吊联系在一起,并且居住于同一村庄。这显然忽略了华北村落还有多姓聚居的可能。事实上,通过对山东南部的村落的研究表明,姓氏之间的联姻在村落的形成上发挥了主要作用,村落目前的结构形态是多姓聚居而非多族聚居。
Abstract：
Prasenjit Duara employs a general definition of ancestor in his work of Culture,Power and State: people from the same ancestor live in the same villages,and are usually connected by the common property,weddings,funerals,and other celebration activities.However,Duara may ignore the possibility of multisurname communal habitations.In effect,the researches performed in the south of Shandong Province show that the marital relations play an important role in the multi-surname,but not multi-ethnic communal villages.
