While scholars usually focus their debates over the schools of Beijing and Shanghai in the perspective of duality,the writer of the paper argues that the key to the conflicts lies in the cultural phenomenon in the leased territories.In fact,the cultural atmosphere and customs form the alternative,which modifies the reconstruction of literary concept and cultural identity of the school of Beijing,so its prestige becomes prominent with the severe defiance over the school of Shanghai.In doing so the school of Beijing has its identity become more legitimate.
