Retrospect and prospects of the NATO enlargement
摘要/Abstract
冷战后北约历经两次扩大。本文分析了新入盟国加入北约的原因和美国扩大北约的战略目的。中东欧国家加入北约有国家安全的历史原因,政治、经济发展的现实目的和集体认同；美国则强调在欧洲的军事存在和世界霸权。扩大后的北约性质是美国占主导地位的安全共同体。北约未来的走向取决于与俄国的关系,成员国内部以及成员国与美国的互动,北约在国际关系中的地位和作用。
In post cold war era,NATO has enlarged twice.This paper analyses the intentions of the new members and the strategic objectives of the USA.It is assumed that the countries of Central and East Europe have historical reasons for national security,realistic purposes for political and economic development and collective identity to join in NATO.Moreover,the USA insists on maintaining its military existence in Europe and global hegemony.The commitment of the enlarged NATO is to build a security community in which the USA dominates.The future of NATO will,therefore,depend on its relations with Russia;interactions between European members of NATO and the USA,the place and influences of NATO in international relations.
