An overview of the studies of Toynbee in the past twenty years in China
摘要/Abstract
摘要：
近二十年,学术界对于英国历史学家汤因比及其著作《历史研究》兴趣不减。汤因比的文明的比较研究方法在西方深受批判,其所具有的历史哲学思想也备受攻击并遭抛弃。他对于中国文明的认识,虽然有一个渐进的过程,但也非常有局限。理论上,他反对“西方中心论”,但这种观念在其著作中到处充斥。中西方研究者对于他的认识显示出巨大差别,如何挖掘其著作中富于意义的思想运用于我们自己的研究和文明建设,还是一个摆在我们面前的重大课题。
Abstract：
The reseaches of Toynbee,a British historian and his A Study of History,have become more popular in the recent twenty years.Whereas his comparative study on civililzations has caused ruthless attacks in the west,his study on Chinese civilizations is also much limited.He opposes the theory of western centricity,although global scholars hold varied opinions.It is concluded that an in-depth research of Toynbee remains a major project for the construction of the Chinese civilization.
