Cohen,a professor of Oxford,discusses in his Rescuing Justice and Equality the justice principle by Rawls.He argues that the principle of justice can not only apply to the institution of basic structure,but also to the individual choices made within the structure.The progress made by Cohen is considered as an inheritance of the ideal socialist conception by Karl Marx.His argument represents a synthesis of assumptions of Hayek and Rawls of justice,a response to the challenges of Macintyre's,and realization of the equality and particular responsibility principles.
