跨文化传播中的情绪感染:一个观察“海外用户涌入小红书”的视角

Emotional Contagion in Cross-Cultural Communication: A Case Study of Overseas Users’ Migration to Xiaohongshu

2025年初,以美国网民为主流的海外用户涌入中国社交平台小红书,引发了一场现象级的跨文化传播事件。该传播事件可以借助情绪感染理论,从情绪唤醒、情绪共振、情绪扩散三个维度,来分析“海外用户涌入小红书”中的情绪感染机制。在该事件发展过程中,海外用户通过“难民”叙事和文化抵抗,实现了跨文化传播的情绪唤醒;通过构建符号共识和基于主体间性的交往,实现了跨文化传播的情绪共振;通过激发集体记忆、创设文化仪式和创新视觉符号,实现了跨文化传播的情绪扩散。跨文化传播情绪感染的影响因素包括高低语境下的符号解码差异、“回音壁效应”以及文化折扣,国家创设的舆论环境则是一大变数。基于此,在跨文化传播中需重视正向情绪感染的思路引导,包括减少语言符号解码障碍,纾解文化折扣;依托算法技术降低负面情绪感染的隐患;为“两个舆论场”的情绪同频共振提供支持。

Abstract:

In early 2025, a significant influx of “TikTok refugees”—predominantly American netizens—migrated to the Chinese social platform Xiaohongshu, creating a notable cross-cultural communication phenomenon. Framed by emotional contagion theory, this study examines the mechanisms of emotional transmission through three dimensions: emotional arousal, emotional resonance, and emotional diffusion. Key findings reveal that (1) cross-cultural emotional arousal was achieved through “refugee” narratives and cultural resistance; (2) emotional resonance emerged via symbolic consensus-building and intersubjective communication; (3) emotional diffusion occurred through collective memory activation, cultural rituals, and innovative visual symbols. The study identifies critical influencing factors, including decoding differences in high/low-context communication, “echo chamber” effects, and cultural discount, with national media environments serving as a significant variable. The research proposes strategies for fostering positive emotional contagion in cross-cultural contexts: reducing linguistic and symbolic decoding barriers to alleviate cultural discount, leveraging algorithm technologies to mitigate negative emotional transmission risks, and facilitating emotional synchronization between different “public opinion spheres.”
