Regional coordinated development serves as a crucial pathway to achieve common prosperity under Chinese modernization. This new era of development has endowed regional coordination with profound contemporary significance while presenting fresh requirements to accelerate common prosperity for all people and address imbalances and inadequacies in regional development. As China enters this new development phase, regional coordination must confront existing contradictions and properly manage several critical relationships that affect the overall situation. The priorities include: enhancing the balance, coordination, and sustainability of regional development through implementing national strategic supports, developing new quality productive forces according to local conditions, and optimizing major productive force layouts. These measures will better serve the national strategy of Chinese modernization. Adopting a problem-oriented approach, the reform agenda should identify institutional barriers hindering solutions to key issues and implement targeted, effective measures to achieve breakthroughs. The ultimate goal is to make greater progress in regional coordinated development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
