在一定意义上,《孽海花》可被视为一部反映晚清性别关系变动的文本。它塑造了傅彩云、夏雅丽等一组女性“杂像”,展示了女性在大变局时代寻求自我解放、走向现代的“主流革命”与“边缘革命”两条路径,而拉康的女性观为理解这两种路径的逻辑差异提供了有效的分析工具。在描述两种途径的基础上,小说进一步揭示出了女性叙事背后的男性意识形态焦虑,反映出在中国式现代化过程中晚清男性精英在想象中国现代性别秩序时所遭遇的性社会学困局。

Abstract:

In a certain sense, A Flower in a Sinful Sea (Nie Hai Hua) can be regarded as a text reflecting the changes of gender relations in the late Qing Dynasty (1644 AD-1912 AD). It created a group of miscellaneous female images such as Fu Caiyun (傅彩云) and Xia Yali (夏雅丽), and showed two paths for women to seek self-liberation and move towards modernity in the era of great changes, i.e., “mainstream revolution” and “marginal revolution.” Lacan’s view on women provided an effective analytical tool for understanding the logical differences between these two paths. On the basis of describing the two ways, the novel further reveals the male ideological anxiety behind the female narration, and reflects the sexual sociology dilemma encountered by the male elite in the late Qing Dynasty when imagining the modern gender order in China in the process of Chinese modernization.
