The core theme of the“Post-Theory Era” is the reflection and reconstruction of the theory itself, and the key task is to re-examine the gains and losses of the theory in its heyday, so as to find the rationality of the continued existence of the theory and the possibility of its continued development. In the “Post-Theory Era,” we should first get rid of blind superstition about the omnipotence of theory, and restrain the desire of theory to expand outward. Secondly, we should reflect on the mode of “large-scale transformation” which prevailed in the heyday of the theory, and reexamine the relationship between current theory and the “oracle-like figures.” The most important feature of the “Post-Theory Era” is the emphasis on the establishment of dialogue relationship.
