Textual Research on Zhang Ying's Official Career in Guizhou and Zhang Zhidong's Birth
摘要/Abstract
晚清重臣张之洞的父亲张锳，一生中做官都在贵州，历时三十年，但非属显宦，所留履历、事迹的记载远不够系统和详细，以致异说纷歧，错讹多有。这不仅关乎其本人，而且连带涉及对其子张之洞出生事项的认知，有必要有的放矢地厘清。这需要抓取较为可靠的史料，综合排比，参酌推敲，梳理出张锳在贵州任职履历的一个符实轮廓。在此基础上，推究和论说有关张之洞出生事项的疑问。可以认定，其出生地并非“常规”所说兴义府其父官舍，而是贵阳六洞桥地方，至于其生年、生母，则仍当维持原说，“异说”不足信实。
Zhang Ying (AD 1791-1856),the father of Zhang Zhidong (AD 1837-1909),one of the most famous officials of the late Qing Dynasty,was an official in Guizhou Province all his life.He served there for 30 years though not a prominent official.The records of his resume and deeds were far from systematic and detailed,resulting in divergent opinions and many mistakes.This is not only related to himself,but also related to the matter of facts regarding his son Zhang Zhidong's birth,which needs to be clarified in a targeted way.The task required collecting reliable historical data,comprehensive comparison and deliberation,and sorting out a realistic outline of Zhang Ying's resume in Guizhou.Based on the above effort,the author discussed and reasoned the questions about Zhang Zhidong's birth.It can be concluded that its birthplace is not the official residence of his father in Xingyi Prefecture,but the Liudongqiao Area in Guiyang.As for his birth year and mother,the original record should still be maintained,and the "different records" are not credible.
