In his article "On the ‘Gene’ of Political Economics in The German Ideology," Professor Gong Jingcai holds that there is a "gene" of political economics in The German Ideology, therefore only by linking the study of political economics and its achievements can we truly understand The German Ideology and its thoughts. But The German Ideology is by no means only the "gene" of political economy, it is itself Marx's works of political economics that expounded his thoughts of political economics. The "purely empirical method" is not the "gene" of political economics, but an empirical scientific method based on empirical observation borrowed from modern natural science. In addition, also untenable is the difference and opposition between Marx and Engels in the philosophical analysis framework proposed by Professor Gong Jingcai to prove the "gene" of political economics in The German Ideology. Only when Marx's original thought is understood not as a philosophy of practical materialism, but as a "real empirical science" of political economics, can we obtain correct answers to relevant theoretical questions.
