In the late Ming Dynasty, commerce flourished and commercial publishing was very active. Various kinds of geomancy (Kanyu) books emerged one after another, most of which were prefaced by the dignitaries at that time. From the preface of geomancy books in the late Ming Dynasty, it could be seen that the officials at that time were very keen on geomancy. They not only read books on geomancy, but also participated in geomantic practice. In addition, there were new situations in geomantic studies. Divination by geographic features is integrated with divination by figures or lines. Candidates for the imperial examination abandoned their career to devote themselves to geomantic studies.
