The abolition of tael and adoption of dollar by Tianjin banking association

摘要：
废两改元是南京国民政府为了改变货币制度中"两元并用"的混乱局面而进行的一项重要币制改革。倾向于近代化经营管理的银行及其代言人主张废除银两，只用银元，改变在洋厘和往来结算等方面长期受制于钱庄的局面。以与废两改元有直接利益关系的天津银行公会为中心，考察废两改元在天津的实施过程，对币制改革及近代金融业史研究具有重要意义。
Abstract：
The abolition of tael is an important monetary reform carried out by Nanjing National Government in order to change the chaotic situation of duality in the monetary system. Banks and their spokesmen, who tend to operate and manage in a modern way, advocate abolishing the two banks and using only silver dollars, so as to change the situation that they have been subject to money banks for a long time in terms of and settlement of transactions.
