Zhang Shi and his interpretations of genteelness

摘要：
义利之辨是儒家的中心问题之一。以张栻为代表的宋儒，将义利之辨提升到判别君子、小人，王道、霸道的“第一义”的高度，并被赋予本体论、心性论、工夫论的诠释，又通过天理人欲之辨，引入“公私之辨”这一命题，使得义利之辨既具备了体现形而上天道的价值根源，又具备了指导士大夫洒扫应对乃至修齐治平的现实功用；既成为士大夫修为君子人格的现实标准，又成为政治上治国平天下、文化上对抗佛道的理论武器。
Abstract：
The debate of righteousness and interest is one of the central issues of the neo-Confucian principles of Zhang Shi, who is a representative of the school of rationalist Confucianism in Song dynasty. This paper accounts for his fundamental Confucian concepts of right righteousness and interest, villains, kingship and hegemony, endowed with the annotations of ontology, theory of mind and time, public and private interests.
