Aesthetics and freedom——aesthetic thoughts in On Beauty
摘要/Abstract
《论美书简》的中心论点就是“美是现象中的自由”。席勒指明了“自由”是理性的形式；自由是美的根据，技艺只是我们关于自由的表象的根据，因此自由是美的直接根据，而技艺只是美的间接条件。因此，席勒关于美的理论是一种统一感性与理性、自然与自由、现象与本质的理论。席勒还在这种统一之中论述了美与善的关系，提出了“道德美”的概念，论述了“艺术美”的概念，进一步丰富和发展了康德美学，开启了黑格尔的美的理论，启发了马克思的美的理论，奠定了现代性的美的理论。
On Beauty concerns about freedom in beauty, as Schiller once claims that freedom is the form of rationality, and freedom is the basis of beauty. Therefore, Schiller's theory of beauty is a unity of emotion and reason, nature and freedom. Besides, Shiller also discusses the unity of beauty and good relations, moral beauty, beauty of art, and further enriches and develops the Kantian Aesthetics. This opens Marx and Hagel's theory on beauty, laying the foundation for modern theory of beauty.
