What on earth is the cognitive aesthetics? A debate over new practical aesthetics
摘要/Abstract
新实践美学固守着美的本质的传统论点, 身陷迷途而不知返。"美是什么"命题缺少必要的逻辑前提, 使所有肯定性的回答都陷于诡异之门:越是要证明该命题的合理性, 越是在证明其不合理性;只要是在寻找"美", 就是在证明没有"美"。彻底否定美本质不等于反本质主义, 也不等于否定人文科学。人文研究借鉴自然科学成果是势所必然。审美之所以可能, 其关键性因素不是"美本质", 而是大脑神经系统中"认知模块"的存在和效用。
The new practical aesthetics is inherently confined to the traditional argument of essence of beauty. What is beauty? The necessary logical premise is void and all the positive replies are paradoxical. The more efforts are made to explicate the rationality of the proposition, the more otherwise findings are approached. The defying of aesthetic essence is not defying of the essentialism, nor of humane science. Hence, the existence of aesthetics is not due to the essence of beauty, but simply because the cognitive module in the brain nerve system is at work.
