摘要
李翱的《复性书》三篇,包括两方面的内容:(1)“性善情恶”的人性论;(2)“忘情复性”的道德修养方法。以“性善情恶”的人性论为理论基础,宋代理学家们把人性区分为高层次的“天命之性”和低层次的“气质之性”,把人性论提高到本体论的高度,形成了完整的理学人性论理论体系;借鉴“忘情复性”的道德修养方法,宋代理学家们提出了“存天理,去人欲”的理性修养方法。由此,李翱成为真正上承传统儒学下启理学的第一人。

A few remarks on Li Ao’s“complexity of human nature”and its impact on the formation of Neo Confucianism of the Song and Ming Dynasties

Abstract:
There are two aspects in Li Ao's work Complex ity of Human Nature: 1.the theory of human nature concerning good and evil;2.cultivation of morality regar dless of emotion and nature.Based on the first aspect,the Neo Confucianists in the Song Dynasty classified human nature into two different levels——the high level of human nature caused by the mandate of heaven and the law level of human nature caused by temperament,thus raising the human nature to ontalogy.Based on the second aspect,the Neo Confucianists put forth "heavenly reason visavis human desire" as away of self cultivation.So Li Ao can be regarded as a per son who inherited Confucianism and generated Neo Confucianism.
